In my musical journey I have had many growth spurts and then reached places where I felt like I didn't grow at all for a LONG time...then suddenly in flash of clarity I learned something new! Then it's as if my playing goes backwards! I am thinking of HOW to add the new thing...then...over time that newness get's swallowed up by my body and is ready for use whenever it's needed...it becomes less new and there I am again...waiting for the next flash.
Be sure to do more…

Because of you my reading skills have jumped up to where they were on the violin back in the day.
I am finding it so much easier to play all kinds of music! I can now pick up things and play melodies within minutes and the chords with just a little bit more effort... I never really read chords on the violin..only double…

Your CAGE class on Monday's @ SH is wonderful! Thank you, thank you! Unfortunately, this Monday, October 3 I will be in Phoenix, AZ attending a funeral/memorial so I will miss out. But I will be back the next Monday so save me the handouts/materials. Very truly yours, Monica
Chris

I found this site that talks about what you were explaining in the Guitar 1-A class about multiple fingerings for G. Thought you might want a look.

Hey! Sorry I didn't see your comment until months after you left it.
I have a petite bouche (oval hole) Cigano GJ10 now, and I love it. It's just a student guitar, but it sounds great.
I've been working on the gypsy rest stroke technique for a while now, and I'm slowly but surely making improvements. I'm definitely better at it than I was before, but still have a ways to go before I can rip it like Django. Rome wasn't built in a day, I suppose.
